The Natural Beauty of North Sabah

This is a video of a couple of places we visited during our road trip at the end of 2007.
The first place is called Sukau. Here we stayed at an eco-friendly (i.e. no air-conditioning) resort in the middle of the jungle. We took several trips on the river to spot lots of animals. Unfortunately we missed a herd of elephants that were spotted the day we arrived.
The second place is the world famous Sepilok Urang-Utan reserve. This is one of two places on the island we’re they have put feeding platforms in place to ensure young urang-utans get a chance to survive their childhood years.
All in all a beautiful trip and highly recommended to anybody.

As promised, here’s the second video. This one was shot in a hotel room in Kuching.

Waterfall

Last weekend we went for a hike in Lambor Hills. This is a nice hilly area just south of Miri where there is still some prime (maybe?) jungle left. It has a few waterfalls with small pools. Some of these are good for swimming. Last time we took Sebastian there he immediately started squealing the second his little man parts hit the water. He is only used to bodies of water at bath temperatures.

This time around he really seemed to enjoy himself even though he was still shivering. See for yourself.

Visiting Niah Caves

Posted on January 19th, 2007 in Pascal, Sebastian, Travel, Video | No Comments »

Last weekend we decided to get adventurous with our little man. So we strapped on a back-pack baby carrier and started our hike to the Niah caves. Once we got to our destination we decided to ask Sebastian for his opinion of the caves and its beautiful surroundings. In the beginning he is still quite mild in his commentary, however a little bit later he has decided to change his opinion slightly. This will no doubt go down as one of the classics!

Enjoy!
